Signs You Can Stop Burping The Newborn
Newborn

There are fewer spit-ups or do not require burping at all.
Burp himself.
Your newborn might suddenly pull away from you while feeding and burp without you rubbing his back.
Observe your newborn. If he appears unsettled or fussy during and after feeding, he might need you to burp him.
Look comfortable during and after feeding.
Burp your newborn when he looks uncomfortable during feeding.
If your newborn looks comfortable during feeding and is happy and playful right after feeding, you need not burp him.
Feed by milk bottle or breast milk.
Suck air while feeding.
Your newborn who feeds by milk bottle suck more air because the milk flows faster from a bottle than it does from Mama’s breast.
Breastfed newborns require less burping than bottle-fed newborns.
Consult a pediatrician to know whether your newborn needs burping or not.
If the doctor says yes, follow his direction to burp your newborn.
I hope all these pointers will help you burp your newborn and know when to stop burping him.
