5 Family-Friendly Things To Do In Singapore With Kids

Updated: Oct 4, 2021

With the holidays nearing, you may worry about where you can go with your kids where your entire family will have something to enjoy. However, not to worry, In this article, I will share with you some unique ideas which will tire your kids out for sure and ensure they knock out once they reach home *evil laughter*. Some of these may even make you wish you were younger.

Diggersite

This activity will provide your children with an opportunity to experience real construction work. They will also learn how to operate a construction digger. On top of this being an unique experience, It’s not everyday a child gets the opportunity to operate a construction digger, your child will also learn plenty from this activity. It will nurture the development of life skills, thus establishing confidence and inspiration within your child and improve hand-eye coordination. Not too expensive for the unique experience too - can opt for bundles!

Snowcity

Let it go, let it go ~~” Let go of all your stress and worries as fast as your body loses heat inside Singapore’s very own snow world. Fuss free activity, just head down to snow city and you can rent their winter wear. Head inside the ice cold area and slide down a snow slope, experience how an igloo feels like and even take Instagram-worthy pictures with the snow sculptures.

Kite Flying at Marina Barrage

When you are looking for something less intense for the adults but still engaging for the little ones, this is the one for you. Pack some snacks, some board games, toys, oh importantly, your kite and some other necessities and you are good to go. Accessibility is great - fairly near to Gardens by the Bay. You can stroll over to Marina Barrage while enjoying the scenery. This activity will not cost you anything and you can enjoy the view from the Marina Barrage. One thing though, please check the weather before planning for a day out for kite flying. The last thing you want to have are disappointed children and a wasted trip there.

Ice Skating

Thrilling activity but keep a close look out for your children and ensure safety because falling on the ice rink hurts (speaking from personal experience). Nonetheless, I highly recommend this activity especially if you have older children. If they can rollerblade, even better, they would have balance on the ice rink. The ice rink I visited was the Ice rink at JCube, Jurong East called The Rink. Prices vary based on age and festive charges do apply so avoid public holidays alright! Save you some extra money. The Rink is known for being Singapore's first and only Olympic-sized ice skating rink.

Horse Riding

This one… is definitely not for the faint hearted. If you have brave little ones and you are also not worried about letting your child experience this, do check out horse riding stables. A child friendly stable I was able to find out was the ‘Gallopstable’, they currently have two running outlets, one at Turf Club Road and another near Pasir Ris. They offer a wide range of horse related activities such as riding lessons, pony rides and feeding, trail rides, riding camps and many more for everyone, young and old to enjoy. A little bit pricier as compared to the other ideas but for a horse riding activity, the price is to be expected, so do not be shocked. Here are some things to pack and prepare for daycare!

Conclusion

These activities are super interesting and I would love for you and your loved ones to go down and experience what I am talking about first-hand. However, please note that with covid-19 around, these are some uncertain times and with changes in policies and measurements taking place often, I would suggest you check their recent updates on their social media pages, websites or email them directly. Stay safe and have fun!
