The best way for your child to develop his inborn capacity for learning is through lots of daily play.
In this article, I will be sharing some activities that you can support your 1 to 3 years old child.
For play and learning to go deep, you need expose your child to these activities repeatedly.
How to support your child?
Trust and believe in your child.
Know your child’s interests, readiness, and abilities.
Provide your child appropriate challenges and resources.
Encourage or spur your child to learn and explore.
Water Play
1. Introduce colours.
Introduce colours by changing the colour of the water in each play session.
Put some objects of the same colour into the water too
2. Play water during bath.
Play with bath toys, sponges or measuring items like measuring cups, bottles.

Learn about changing colours in water.
Food Play
Introduce foods with different tastes (sweet, sour, bitter, salty), textures (crunchy, silky, grainy, powdery) and flavours to your child.
Involve your child with cooking.
For example, stirs eggs, helps in buying groceries etc.

Food and cooking-related activities are great as these improve gross/fine motor skills, language and cognition development.
Light Play
Bring your child to outdoor.
Ask your child to walk and see the shadow following him.
Your child might be scared by the shadow and cried, calm him down.

Puzzles
Make a puzzle from your photo.
Start with 2-piece puzzles to get the concept of putting them together to create an image.
Increase the puzzle pieces once reach a new level.
Watch your child giggle in surprise and delight upon accomplishing a puzzle!

Using your child’s curiosity will help him be more engaged in a sit-down task like solving puzzles.
